Sandals Announces Jamaica Re-opening Plans

Here is the full text of the email we received from Sandals earlier today:

To our valued guests, travel advisors, and members of the travel industry:

Just one week ago, the world watched as Hurricane Melissa grew into one of the most significant storms on record before making landfall in Jamaica. Incredibly, we also witnessed something even greater: the unbreakable spirit of Jamaica, along with the incredible support from across the wider Caribbean and around the world.

Millions sent messages of hope and reached out to express just how beloved Jamaica is as a destination. We are so grateful to everyone who held the Sandals and Beaches Resorts team members, guests, and the local Jamaican communities in their thoughts. The support and care we’ve felt has been profoundly moving, and it is already making a difference.

It is in this spirit that we share an important update. Five of our beloved resorts in Jamaica will be welcoming guests back, beginning December 6, 2025. These include:

  • Sandals Dunn’s River
  • Sandals Ocho Rios
  • Sandals Royal Plantation
  • Sandals Negril
  • Beaches Negril

Each resort has completed its comprehensive assessments to prepare for arrivals. In fact, some resorts could be available to open even sooner; however, we have made the important decision to set one reopening date for all, to offer a period of rest and recovery for our local team members in Jamaica. They have faced numerous challenges due to Hurricane Melissa, and this will enable our team to focus on themselves and their families before returning to work.

Among our remaining resorts in Jamaica:

  • Sandals Montego Bay
  • Sandals Royal Caribbean
  • Sandals South Coast

These resorts will require additional time to recover fully and will welcome guests on May 30, 2026, once the essential renovations are complete. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to restore them to the high standards our guests have come to expect.

Additionally, our Montego Bay Call Center was significantly impacted by Hurricane Melissa, and this is resulting in extended wait times when reaching our team. Please know, we are currently relocating the Montego Bay call center operation and are working to complete this process at our earliest to restore full service.

We recognize the disruption caused by Hurricane Melissa is impacting many of our guests, and we extend our deepest gratitude for your support during this time. We are committed to doing everything possible to get vacation plans back on track as quickly as possible.

**Please note that we will not be accepting arrivals in Ocho Rios and Negril before Saturday, December 6, 2025.

** To ensure the highest level of Sandals service, we kindly ask for your patience this week, as we prioritize assisting guests whose travel plans are directly affected during this period.

Should you have questions or wish to book one of these resorts, please contact your Premier Custom Travel team member today.
