More Cruise Lines Headed to Cuba

Just as fathom impact + travel announced it would suspend its operations to both Cuba and the Dominican Republic in mid-2017, several other lines have now announced plans to sail to the once off-limits island beginning next year.

Oceania Cruises will sail a 14-day inaugural voyage on March 7, 2017 on the Oceania Marina from Miami. They will also offer 10-day voyages on March 21, 2017 and March 31, 2017.

Besides Oceania Cruises, the two other Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings brands, Norwegian Cruise Line and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, have also been approved for sailings to Cuba. Regent’s 700-passenger Seven Seas Mariner will call on Havana during two cruises in April, and Norwegian’s 2,004-passenger Norwegian Sky will offer a selection of four-day voyages that will overnight in Havana in May.

Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. will send two of its brands to Cuba – Royal Caribbean International and Azamara Club Cruises. The former will send its Empress of the Seas to visit Havana on three itineraries: a five-night cruise departing April 19, 2017, from Miami; a seven-night cruise departing April 30, 2017, from Tampa; and a five-night cruise departing May 20, from Tampa. Azamara Quest so far has added a Havana call to one of its itineraries. Departing March 21 from Miami, the 13-night cruise will include an overnight stay at the capital city. The line also said it looks to add Cuba calls to other itineraries.

Pearl Seas Cruises will also sail to the island, featuring 10-night voyages beginning January 17, 2017.
