With all of its team completing the training and passing the exam, Premier Custom Travel<\/a> today became the first travel agency in the world to earn the Sensory Accessibility\/Inclusive Certification from KultureCity.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

KultureCity<\/a> is the world\u2019s leading nonprofit on sensory accessibility and acceptance. They “Make the Nevers Possible” by creating sensory accessibility and inclusion for those with invisible disabilities. Sensory needs are a common medical condition in which the brain has trouble receiving and responding to information that comes in through the senses. 1 in 4 individuals have a sensory need or an invisible disability. These are individuals with PTSD, autism, dementia, or strokes, just to name a few. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Common sounds, lights, crowds and even certain smells might not only be overwhelming but also physically painful. Because of this, these individuals withdraw from communities not by choice but by circumstance as they worry about how the world will accept or include them.  KultureCity<\/a> changes that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their Sensory Inclusive Certification is available to venues, organizations, small businesses or caring individuals who want to learn more about sensory needs and how to better engage with individuals with sensory needs. By completing these courses, the Premier Custom Travel team will be able to better create acceptance and inclusion for ALL. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I cannot put into words how honored we are to be the first travel agency to complete this certification,” said Chris Grum<\/a>, Founder and President of Premier Custom Travel<\/a>. “We have always believed that everyone deserves to travel the world and that despite what they may think, anyone truly can. With KultureCity<\/a> as our partner, our ability to work with clients with disabilities has grown exponentially.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All three members of the PCT team – owner Chris Grum<\/a>, as well as independent contractors Scott McAlister<\/a> and Danielle Gonyea<\/a> – have earned the certification. This means that not only is the agency itself certified, but so are all of its individual advisors. And for one of those team members, this hits close to home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I’m a mom to three special needs boys, so partnering with KultureCity<\/a> is incredibly important to me,” said Danielle Gonyea<\/a>. “I live their mission every day, both as a mother and as a travel advisor who focuses on both the visible and invisible disabilities. To be able to say we are certified by such a renowned organization will speak volumes to that community and raises our credibility immensely.”<\/p>\n\n\n
