The D23 Expo, the biennial event for the official Disney fan club, was this past weekend in Anaheim, California. As they always do, Disney unveiled some awesome news at the conference. Here is a quick look at the major announcements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

WALT DISNEY WORLD<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The 50th Anniversary of\u00a0Walt Disney World\u00ae<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0Resort will be one of the biggest ever!\u00a0 Disney is extending the celebration to all four Resort theme parks with amazing attraction openings, new entertainment, food and beverage, merchandise and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And this past weekend at D23 Expo 2019, Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products Chairman Bob Chapek unveiled new details on some exciting Guest offerings coming to the\u00a0Walt Disney World<\/strong>\u00a0Resort for the 50th Anniversary and beyond.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s a roundup of what\u2019s to come:{<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

An all-new\u00a0Star Wars\u00a0<\/em>vacation experience is coming to the\u00a0Walt Disney World<\/strong>\u00a0Resort!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Star Wars:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Galactic Starcruiser\u00a0<\/strong>will be a new, first-of-its-kind vacation experience where you will check-in for a two-night adventure aboard a glamorous starship.\u00a0 Once onboard, you will interact with characters and become active participants in stories that unfold around you on your galactic journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At\u00a0Star Wars:\u00a0<\/em>Galactic Starcruiser, both children and adults will have the opportunity to face off against a training remote while wielding a lightsaber like Luke Skywalker did as he was learning to use The Force. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Also at\u00a0Walt Disney World<\/strong>\u00a0Resort, Disney has big plans for our multi-year transformation of\u00a0Epcot<\/strong>, with new experiences that will make the park more Disney, more family, more timeless and more relevant to the millions of Guests who visit each year.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The park will be unified with four neighborhoods that each celebrate a unique aspect of what makes\u00a0Epcot<\/strong>\u00a0so special.\u00a0 Where Future World currently stands, three new neighborhoods will spring up:\u00a0World Celebration<\/strong>,\u00a0World Discovery\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0World Nature<\/strong>.\u00a0 And\u00a0World Showcase\u00a0<\/strong>will continue to celebrate culture, cuisine, architecture and traditions from around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At World Celebration in Epcot<\/strong>, Spaceship Earth will remain the park\u2019s grand icon but the journey will be transformed with new scenes reflecting the universal nature of the human experience. A new guide and all new narration will focus on the storytelling that brings people together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

World Celebration in\u00a0Epcot<\/strong>\u00a0will also feature breathtaking views at\u00a0Dreamers Point<\/strong>, lush gardens, a wishing tree, an interactive new fountain and a new statue celebrating the legacy of the original dreamer, Walt Disney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new pavilion at World Celebration will be the home base for\u00a0Epcot\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0signature festivals, providing a stunning view of World Showcase and an ideal spot to witness the park\u2019s nighttime spectacular. This three level structure will have one of the most remarkable designs at any Disney park and will fast become a new icon for\u00a0Epcot<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the World Discovery neighborhood in Epcot<\/strong>, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind <\/strong>will feature the first reverse launch into space! The thrilling, family-friendly attraction will feature a never-before-seen storytelling coaster that rotates to focus on the action – wherever it may be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, an expansion of the Mission: SPACE pavilion, the new restaurant\u00a0Space 220<\/strong>, will open this winter as an out-of-this-world culinary experience with the celestial panorama of a space station, including daytime and nighttime views of Earth from 220 miles up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In World Showcase, Disney will welcomethe first attraction inspired by Mary Poppins\u00a0<\/strong>in Cherry Tree Lane, which will join the United Kingdom pavilion as an entirely new neighborhood!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the China pavilion, \u201cWondrous China\u201d<\/strong>will take guests on a spectacular journey across China, filmed and presented in a completely seamless 360-degree digital format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film \u201cCanada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360\u201d will debut in January 2020 in the Canada pavilion with new scenes and a new story. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The France pavilion will offer even more for Guests to discover, including a new \u201cBeauty and the Beast Sing-Along\u201d in January 2020.\u00a0\u00a0 And in summer 2020, the much-anticipated attraction Remy\u2019s Ratatouille Adventure will open, as well as a delicious new restaurant called La Cr\u00eaperie de Paris.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In World Nature, The reinvention of Epcot<\/strong> will include Journey of Water, Inspired by \u201cMoana.\u201d <\/em><\/strong>This first-ever experience inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios\u2019 hit film will let guests interact with magical, living water in a beautiful and inspiring setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the Land pavilion’s new film “Awesome Planet,” which showcases the spectacular beauty, diversity, and dynamic story of the planet in World Nature, will begin welcoming guests in January 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And following the limited time run of\u00a0Epcot<\/strong>\u00a0Forever\u00a0at\u00a0Epcot<\/strong>, a new nighttime spectacular called\u00a0HarmonioUS\u00a0<\/strong>will be the largest ever created for a Disney park.\u00a0It will celebrate how the music of Disney inspires people the world over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At D23 Expo, Disney shared a first look at the newly-themed Chinese Theater that will be home to Mickey & Minnie\u2019s Runaway Railway when it opens at\u00a0Disney\u2019s Hollywood Studios<\/strong>\u00a0in spring 2020.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This first major Mickey-themed ride-through attraction will put you inside the wacky and unpredictable world of a Mickey Mouse cartoon short where anything can happen!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And planned to debut in late 2020,\u00a0Disney Genie\u00a0<\/strong>will be a revolutionary new digital offering to enhance the way you plan for and experience a trip to\u00a0Walt Disney World<\/strong>\u00a0Resort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Disney Genie will make planning easier and more fun by providing Guests customized itineraries geared to princesses, thrill seekers, foodies, families and more. Guests will even be able to tell Disney Genie what they want to experience, and it will quickly evaluate millions of options to present them with an optimal day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reflections: A Disney Lakeside Lodge, will be a unique resort inspired by the wonders of nature and artistry of Walt Disney.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, at\u00a0Magic Kingdom\u00ae<\/strong>\u00a0Park, the TRON attraction will be called\u00a0TRON Lightcycle Run.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0This attraction lets riders board a train of two-wheeled Lightcycles and experience the energy, lights and excitement of TRON\u2019s high-tech universe.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And for the first time, Walt Disney Imagineering and Walt Disney Animation Studios have joined forces with Cirque du Soleil to create a show that will combine Disney storytelling and heart with Cirque du Soleil\u2019s signature artistry. Previews will begin March 20, 2020, leading up to the world premiere on April 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DISNEY CRUISE LINE<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As we shared on Facebook yesterday,\u00a0Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Bob Chapek announced\u00a0the highly anticipated name of the fifth\u00a0Disney Cruise Line<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0ship, gave us a first glance of the ship\u2019s elegant atrium and revealed the iconic Disney character that will adorn the ship\u2019s stern. Bob was joined by Imagineer Joe Rohde to share a first look at the plans for our second island destination in The Bahamas. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
