Patricia Perry describes her onboard programs as “edutainment,” meaning that while you are having fun, you are also learning. Her shows are thoroughly researched and presented with an eye on accuracy but without the dust one often finds in old history books. In period costume and with comic wit, she speaks on how real people lived in the past, what they ate and wore, how they made themselves beautiful, tried to keep healthy, and who and how they loved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Katie earned a Master of Science Degree in Ecology from the University of California at Berkeley and spent most of her professional career working for the US Forest Service. She has traveled around the world twice, visiting many remote sites looking for rare and endangered plants and birds. During each cruise, Katie presents a series of evening discussions about our ports of call, as well as several well-researched talks pertaining to the area. Her lectures cover a variety of topics from local wildlife and ecology to early exploration and history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
