One of the most delicious winter drinks can be found at the some of the Christmas markets in Central Europe \u2013 it\u2019s called J\u00e4gertee. In English, this translates to \u201chunter tea,\u201d a specialty beverage which originated in the 19th century and was enjoyed during the cold winter days by hunters and foresters. Made with spices, wine, rum and tea \u2013 and served hot \u2013 this drink is packed with the flavor and warmth of the holidays. If you\u2019re looking for something unique to serve at your gathering this year, use this great recipe for traditional J\u00e4gertee!<\/p>\n

European J\u00e4gertee
\n(Serves 6-8)<\/p>\n

Ingredients:
\n\u2022 1 cup red wine
\n\u2022 1 cup black tea
\n\u2022 1 cup spiced rum
\n\u2022 1 cup orange juice
\n\u2022 1 cup plum brandy or Schnapps
\n\u2022 2-3 whole cloves
\n\u2022 2 lemon slices
\n\u2022 (1\/4) cinnamon stick
\n\u2022 A pinch of sugar
\nPreparation:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Place the tea, wine, rum, brandy, orange juice, spices and lemons in a large pot
\n\u2022 Allow the mixture simmer for approx. 5 minutes (do not boil)
\n\u2022 Remove from the heat
\n\u2022 Use ladle to fill mugs
\n\u2022 Sprinkle with sugar to taste<\/p>\n
