Michelle is currently a full-time school teacher in the Willis ISD district and assists Premier Custom Travel in her spare time.
She graduated in 1988 from McCullough High School in The Woodlands, Texas. She attended Stephen F. Austin State University and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies. In 2009 she attended Lamar University while teaching in Willis and earned a Masters degree in Education Administration. Michelle was CC Hardy's Teacher of the Year in 2004 and was named the Elementary Teacher of the Year for Willis ISD. She was also recognized as a regional Teacher of the Year finalist for Region VI.
During her over twenty years as a teacher Michelle has served as a cheerleading sponsor, a seventh and eighth grade athletic coach, a 6th grade UIL spelling coach, a fifth grade team leader, a Reading department head, and a safety patrol sponser. She is currently sponsoring Meador Elementary's Scrabble Club.
Public service is also a big part of Michelle's life. She is currently volunteers with many organizations that involve helping children. The Elves 'n More bikes for children campaign is one of her favorites during the holiday season. She also serves as a Captain on the Special Attractions Committee for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. This committee is responsible for free family attractions at the rodeo including the Pig Races and Fun on the Farm. She says, "It is a privledge to work with children from all over the Houston area and beyond during the rodeo."
Michelle loves working with all children and seeing them grow both in their academic knowledge and in their social roles. She often says, "I love working in Willis ISD. It is a place where everyone cares about kids."
Michelle married her husband Scott in the fall of 2005. They currently reside in Willis, Texas with their cats.
